Honors Graduate Advances Career
In May 2008, Jeff Kallus
graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University in College Station.
Jeff received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering.
Upon graduation he joined the engineering team at Southwest Engineers in Gonzales.
Jeff joins the team as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) a title given only to those engineers that have passed the
Fundamentals of Engineering Exam as required by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.
Jeff was part of the Southwest Engineers intern program in the summer of 2007
where he gained real world experience in water distribution design, computer aided drafting,
topographic surveying and other related fields.
As an EIT, he will assist Professional Engineers with engineering design of water distribution facilities,
storage tanks, wastewater collection mains, lift stations, booster stations,
water and wastewater treatment facilities, drainage structures, and roadway projects.
John Littlefield, Southwest Engineers' president, said "We are very excited to have Jeff come on board.
His hard work and talent was clear when he was interning last summer.
I am glad we can provide opportunities to young professionals from this area
and we are lucky that we have such talented people available to serve our customers."
Jeff graduated from Hallettsville High School in YYYY, before attending Texas A&M.
The work experience he will gain will prepare him in becoming a professional engineer
after the apprenticeship period is over.
