Southwest Engineers is proud to announce Dakota Kresta, as the recipient of the firm’s sixth annual engineering scholarship. Kresta was recently awarded a scholarship of up to $5,000 from the firm to pursue a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
A 2013 graduate of St. Paul High School in Shiner, Texas, Kresta will attend Richland College this fall to begin his pursuit of a degree in civil engineering. In addition to receiving academic honors, Kresta has been extremely active in various community volunteer programs, church activities and athletics. Kresta is the son of Tim and Darlene Kresta.
The annual engineering scholarship is awarded to encourage local area students to pursue the opportunities available to graduate engineers in Texas.
Each year, it is presented to a local graduating student accepted to study civil or environmental engineering at an accredited university. Students graduating from high school in Hallettsville, Shiner, Gonzales, Yoakum, Nixon, Luling, Moulton and Waelder are eligible to apply. Interested students should see their school’s counselor for details.
