Allison Guettner, Ambassador In Training

August 9, 2009

Allison Guettner, a participant in the Southwest Engineers’ internship program for the last two summers, will be attending the 2009 CASE ASAP Network Convention on August 6-8 in Baltimore, Maryland. Allison is a senior civil engineering major at The University of Texas at San Antonio, where she is a member and Assistant Coordinator for the UTSA Ambassadors.

The Ambassadors is a university-sponsored student organization with over 60 individually-selected members that act as student hosts at campus events, university sponsored conferences, and community and alumni functions. Ambassadors participate in events such as information tables, campus tours, and commencement ceremonies, giving over 5,000 total hours of service to the university per year.

Allison, along with eleven other members of the Ambassadors, will be making the trip to Maryland to meet and network with other student leaders from colleges all across the United States. While there, she and five other Ambassadors will give a presentation on the Ambassador-in-Training (AIT) program that the UTSA Ambassadors have developed over the last three years. As Chairperson of the Student Recruitment Committee last year, Allison actively coordinated and supervised the program, which helps recruit and train prospective Ambassadors.
